Lee Roy Selmon has a background that is a combination of family scholarships football with community service. First family, he's the youngest of the nine children born to Lucious and Jessie Selmon. They grew up on a farm at Eufala, Oklahoma. Also, he was one of three brothers who played for Oklahoma on the field of football. All three of them were All-Americans. They made the All-America team in 1973. Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the starters for one year. Lee Roy received the Outland & Lombardi Awards for being the best lineman of the US. Over the course of three seasons, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy serving as their starting line-up. They also won two national championships. In his role as an National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon was given the opportunity to receive a scholarship in his third year in the year 1975. Selmon was awarded a degree from Education. Fourth-year service in college Lee Roy devoted ten hours every week for volunteer activities. He settled down in Tampa after college, played with the Buccaneers for a period of nine years, and played three times in the all-pro league. His business career began. The first job he had was an Account Relation Officer at First Florida Bank, Tampa. He has worked previously for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder in 1982 the Junior Chamber of Commerce named him one of the nation's 10 outstanding young men. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 pounds during his time playing college football. In 1975, he was on the team. team. Lee Roy joined the University of South Florida in 1993 as an associate director of sports. Selmon has been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded its Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. The award was presented by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
