Lee Roy Selmon's story combines the virtues of family football scholarship with community service. Selmon is the youngest of children from Lucious Selmon, and Jessie Selmon, who took care of him at their property in Eufala. He was also one of three siblings who represented Oklahoma in football. All three made All-America. For 1973 Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the starting line-up for just one year. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's top lineman. In the three seasons he was Oklahoma's first lineman they went 33-1-1, and picked up two championships. In 1975, Selmon was awarded the third scholarship of his career and was acknowledged as the National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon obtained his qualification in the field of education. Fourth Service in college Lee Roy devoted ten hours per week to volunteer projects. In Tampa He played with the Buccaneers over nine years and was an all-pro. Additionally, he started a career in the field of business. In 1988, he joined the ranks of an account relations officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also involved with these groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder in 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy one of the country's 10 outstanding young men. While a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and was weighing a little over 256 pounds. He captained his college team in 1975. He joined at the University of South Florida as the associate director of athletics. It was the College Football Hall of Fame was named for him in the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989 in 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented its Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma gave it to them.
