Taylor

Taylor Swift, the rarest pop sensation, is one who was able to transcend across the border between country music and mainstream pop culture and become an idol of the pop world. The singer also conquered every continent during the course of her journey. Swift shed her country roots as though they were part of her skin revealing that she could be the most populist singer/songwriter of her generation one that could tap into the mood of the moment and personalize it and also perform an opposite. Songs from her early days such as the neotribute for Tim McGraw were a testament of her ability. The second album Fearless in 2008 showcased a songwriter finding her voice and an even wider fan base. Fearless was able to have significant performances not just in U.S. where it racked up six platinum singles on the foundation of Top Ten hits Love Story and I Belong with Me but throughout the world, with a particular success across Canada, the U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift was able to consolidate her success by releasing Speak Now almost two year after. In the following three years, Swift's fame increased through the years -in the form of Red (2012), Reputation (2014) and 1989 (2014-2015) (2014-2015) -- as she stepped into the world of pop where her talents were already well established. She remained at the top of pop even when she reduced her sound by releasing her folklore album with siblings in 2020 and Evermore.
