April Ross

April Ross is one of only a few female beach volleyball players to win medals at many Olympics. In Tokyo over the next several days, she'll try to claim her third Olympic medal alongside the first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross aims to earn her Olympic debut gold but she is also aiming for greater. And at the age of 39, this could be her last opportunity to do so. Her optimism is that she can achieve top honors. Ross, via NBC Boston, said that If the team is performing consistently or well they can earn a gold. Additionally, I'm going to rely on a bit of good luck. Ross was born in 1982, and grew up in Costa Mesa California with her siblings and parents, started participating in the sports of the Newport Harbor High School. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of activities while at Newport Harbor High School. As a prep-athlete she played indoor volleyball and track. When she played in the final sport, she clearly stood out. In her high school volleyball career as per her college biography she played as an outside-hitter, middle-blocker and setter. The award was presented to her as one of the Gatorade National Circle of Champions Player of the Year in 1999 due to her accomplishments. The 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Month was also received by her in volleyball. Ross and Klineman are performing their roles from 2017. The reality is that Ross was a major player in the beach volleyball scene prior to the pair. Actually, Ross has won several important tournaments throughout her career with two partners. One is a volleyball legend. Jennifer Kessy was her partner during six years from 2007 until 2013. Also, she coached Klineman as well as herself. Alongside Kessy Ross was a force in the world circuit, winning an international title in 2009. In the 2012 Olympic Games, they received the gold medal. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the team to beat out for gold. Ross Jennings replaced May-Treanor as she left the team. They were able to win bronze in beach volleyball during the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross was a player for the USC Trojans in college years after she graduated the high school she attended. And her run at the school was one to remember. Her freshman year in 2000 saw her earn the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman's of Year awards and be an All-American. In addition, she helped her Trojans get to the Final Four. She was devastated by a personal tragedy during her second year, but she managed to become an All-American in her second year. In her last two seasons as a player, she led the Trojans towards the summit of the mountain netting consecutive national championships. The achievements of each individual have established her place as a legendary volleyball player. She won the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the top female NCAA player. Ross studied international relations at USC. Unfortunately Ross mom Margie did not get to see Ross's daughter reach the highest levels of beach volleyball superstardom. Ross's mother passed away from cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross had just become an undergraduate student in the second year at USC. However, she keeps her mother in her heart. Margie is a source of inspiration both in her personal life and at the beaches.
